Sea Shell Wreath
Sea Shell Wreath

After your summer trips and vacations you've probably collected shells at the beach and other goodies. Rather than just throw them into a shoebox how about displaying them for all to see.

Memory Book
Memory Book

In this project we offer up more of an idea than an actual project. The project part of this can be making a bag to keep your memory book in but you're mostly on your own to do that. Read on to see the real fun of this project.

Decorative Cloth Balls
Decorative Cloth Balls

This is one of those projects that looks really neat to just have sitting around the house. The balls here are displayed in a wooden bowl that was turned by Ken's sister Diane's husband Dell. We think they look pretty nice together.

Spring Place Setting
Spring Place Setting

Nothing makes a table more festive than these pretty spring place settings. I made these for my sister Susie's birthday party but I won't tell you how old she is.
BACK

Indoor Trellis

Here's a nice looking trellis that you can use indoors or outdoors. It's one of those projects who's appearance will change depending on the sticks you collect for it.
BACK

Spring Flower Napkin Holder

This is one of those projects that the kids can do, with a little help from an adult, that look really nice and are useful. You'll want to make one for every place setting on the table.
BACK

Window Picture Frame

This project can be used a couple of ways. First of all you can make it look like a window going out into the world. It's great for an office or room with no windows. Secondly it's a really cheap way to make a multiple picture frame.
BACK

Pussy Willow Balls

These Pussy Willow Balls are really unique, pretty and make wonderful gifts. They are a little tedious and take some time but the results are great.
BACK

Dad's Dresser Basket

This is a simple little project that might just make a good Father's Day gift. Dads always need places to put things like keys, change, pocket knives, etc. Rather than just throwing them all over the dresser give him this basket so everything will be in one place.
BACK

Fishing Pole Gear Grabber

Fishing is really a lot of fun and this project might make it even more fun. One thing that's no fun when fishing is having your gear all tangled up. This project will help solve that problem.
BACK

Tin Pockets

Tin art is always a fun thing to do. These tin pockets make great gifts and look really nice hanging around the house.
BACK

Tin Potpourri

Do you still have some tin left over from the tin pockets project? Well here's another great little project you can make with it.

Card Note Pads

There are about a bazillion things that you can make out of greeting cards and we think that this use is particularly cool.
BACK

Harvest Bread Loaf

This project will add to that Fall atmosphere as a great room decoration or a pretty addition to your table. Just don't let your guests try to eat it ;-)
BACK

Fall Leaves Bookmark

This is a good back to school project. The bookmark is fun to make and works really good. The fall colors add a nice touch since most schools start in the fall.
BACK

Corn Husk Flowers

After we made the corn husk candy wraps from our RunnerDuck newsletter, October 3, 2003, we had some corn husks left over. So what's a person to do with left over corn husks? Make corn husk flowers of course.
BACK

Corn Husk Sun Flower Refrigerator Magnet

These sun flowers will really brighten up your kitchen when you put them on your refrigerator. They're fun to make and a good project to get the kids involved in.
BACK

Wine Glass Charms

Thanks goes out to Ken's daughter Jenni for this weeks idea. These charms are used to identify your party goers wine glasses so they don't get mixed up. We've seen them in catalogs going for as much as $25 a set. Of course they have antiques or jewels on them but we think making your own is at lot more fun and cheaper.
BACK

Ribbon Rose Garden

Here's a pretty spring like project to go with the blooming crocus. This rose garden was made by Marilyn's mom a number of years ago and it brings joy every time we bring it out.
BACK

White Picket Fence Napkin Rings

These cute little picket fences will dress up a summer picnic table or a elegant tea party! They are fun to make and a great project to have your kids help with.
BACK

Tissue Dispenser

Steve, a coworker of Ken's came up with this clever idea. We think it looks pretty neat and it actually works. Steve has made a number of them for people at work at they all love it.
BACK

Girl On A Swing

Break out your coping saw or scroll saw, it's time for a little wood cutting. This is really simple and fun to make. They look great hanging on the wall and make great gifts for kids rooms.
BACK

Woven Bread Bowl

These look so nice and are really fun to make. You can use them for serving all sorts of things as long as they are not too heavy. They are perfect for rolls and bread.
BACK

Envelope Organizer Book

Here's a fun project to help you get organized. You can use this organizer to store seeds, sort coupons, keep track of upcoming bills or just about anything else you can think of.
BACK

Campfire Starter

The camping season is upon us and what's more fun when camping than a nice campfire. It keeps you warm, makes neat sounds and provides a perfect place to cook hot dogs or roast marshmallows for smores! The only problem is getting the campfire started. This fire starter will get your fire going fast.
BACK

Glass Candle Stand

One thing we really like is lit candles with dinner. When you are having dinner outside during these summer months it's tough to have a candle because the wind keeps blowing it out. This simple candle stand helps keep the wind from blowing our your candles and they look great!
BACK

Topiary

We just remodeled our bedroom and it needed something special to dress it up. These Topiaries were just the ticket. They are pretty simple to make and a lot of fun. We sort of show you the basics here but you can let your imagination go wild.
BACK

Bamboo Place Mats

It's really fun making something out of nothing and that's what this weeks project is. We redecorated our bedroom and put up some new bamboo blinds. They were a lot longer than what we needed so we cut them to length and had a lot of material left over. With a little imagination we came up with these cool looking place mats.
BACK

Old T-shirt Quilt

Don't throw out your favorite old t-shirts just because they are old, faded or too small! Make them into your new favorite quilt.
BACK

Summer Screen Door

OK so it's not really a door but it works like one. It lets the summer breeze in and keeps most of the bugs out. We don't have a lot of bugs here in Western Washington but this screen really does seem to help keep them out.
