Toy Sled
Continuing with our Holiday toy making, this sled is really a wonderful little toy. It's great for pulling your favorite Teddy Bear around in the snow, or just hanging on the wall.

Toy Sled
Here's what you'll need:
  • 6" X 16" X 1/8" wood, any kind.
  • 26" X 3" X 5/16" wood, any kind.
  • 4 1/2" X 8" X 5/8" wood, any kind.
  • 5/16" X 8 1/2" Dowel

Using the pattern, trace the runners onto the 5/16" wood.
Cut them out using a band saw, scroll saw or coping saw.
Drill a 5/16" hole in to front curl of each runner.
Trace the two supports onto 5/8" wood and cut them out.
Trace the base onto the 1/8" wood and cut them out.
Position the first brace 7" from the front of the runners, glue and nail.
Position the second brace 8 1/4" behind the first, glue and nail.
Attach the base onto the top of the braces. Center them between the braces and space them 3/4" apart.
Glue and install the 5/16" dowel into the two holes on the runners. Let the dowel protrude evenly on both sides.
After everything is dry, paint your sled and get it ready to wrap up for Christmas morning. We painted ours green but you can be as creative as you like.
