Yard Tool Carrier
It seems like there is always something you need to haul with you around the yard when you are doing gardening. Here's a handy little carrier for just that purpose. Ours is a little small but you can make it any size you like using these easy instructions as a basic plan.
Garden Tool Carrier

Here's what you'll need:
  • 3/4" X 6" X 25" Cedar. Fencing scraps work great.
  • 1" X 6" X 24" Cedar
  • 1/2" Dowel 5" long
  • Glue
  • Nails
Cut the following pieces:

Sides (2) 12" X 5 1/2" with a 30 degree taper on each end.
Handles Sides 1 3/4" X 10"
Handle 1/2" Dowel 5" long.
Slats (21) 3/8" thick 6" long, cut out of 1" X 6"

Glue and nail the slats to the sides evenly spaced.
Drill a 1/2" diameter hole centered 1/2" down from the top of each handle side.
Put the dowel through the two handle sides.
Glue and nail the handle sides centered on the inside of the box.
Decorate your box or leave it just plane, after all it is a working carrier. To make it look a little nicer like for a gift you can paint it or like we did glue empty seed packages to it.
Now get out there and play in the dirt!
